Shibusawa Eiichi and the development of the capitalist economy in northern Japan

This is a new research project on the role played by entrepreneur Shibusawa Eiichi in the development of the capitalist economy in northern Japan, and more specifically in Akita Prefecture.
For more than twenty years, my research has focused on Japan's relations with the world in general, and on those it had with French Indochina during World War II in particular. I am preparing an international research project on the question of contemporary world history in the Pacific Ocean.
